At Sussex Driver Training, your instructor is Michael Warrington - a highly experienced, qualified trainer with over three decades of driving and instruction expertise. Michael’s background includes both military and civilian training environments, giving him a well-rounded skill set and a passion for helping drivers reach their full potential.

At Sussex Driver Training, your instructor is Michael Warrington - a highly experienced, qualified trainer with over three decades of driving and instruction expertise.
Michael began his driving career in the British Army, trained at Leconfield (Army School of Driving). His career has spanned specialist logistics, driver instruction and professional assessments - helping drivers and businesses reach the highest standards.
Since 1987
Defence Driver Examiner
Michael began his career at the British Army’s School of Driving, qualifying as a Defence Driver Examiner and developing the foundations of his transport expertise.
1990s
Defence Transport Manager & Operator
During the 1990s, Michael progressed into military logistics roles, becoming a Transport Manager and Defence Transport Operator. His responsibilities included fleet oversight, road safety advising, Hazmat management, and traffic investigation.
2007
Licence Acquisition & FEPDS Instructor
Transitioning into instructional roles, Michael became a Driving Licence Acquisition Instructor and Field Electrical Power Distribution System (FEPDS) Instructor and Manager, delivering specialist training within the military environment.
2009
Fleet & Equipment Management (JAMES System)
Michael managed large fleets of vehicles and equipment using the British Army's JAMES system, overseeing maintenance, planning, and operational readiness for transport assets.
2014
Driver CPC Instructor
Michael began delivering Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) training, helping professional drivers meet ongoing industry standards. He continues to provide CPC courses across Sussex today.
2020-Present
Advanced Driver Training & Assessments
Michael expanded his services to include Forklift and HIAB (Lorry Loader Crane) instruction, MOD 4 assessments and driver evaluations for councils and businesses. In 2025, he successfully passed a full DVSA quality assessment, continuing his commitment to professional training excellence.
